August 14, 1993 FACULTY George B. Savo (70) Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Aug 1993 George B. Savo, 70, of Pacific Grove, a teacher, died yesterday [Aug. 14] at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Mr. Savo was born June 21, 1923, in Yugoslavia. He attended Monterey Peninsula College and San Francisco State University and earned a master’s degree from the University of Oregon. He also served in the Navy. Mr. Savo was a high school social studies and international relations teacher at Pacific Grove High School for 25 years, and also worked as a potter. He had lived in Pacific Grove for 48 years. He is survived by a son, Marco, and a daughter, Buff, both of Pacific Grove. His wife, Joan, a well-known Monterey Peninsula artist, died in September. No services will be held. Cremation will be at Little Chapel-by-the-Sea. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to The CARE Foundation.
